HIRAM GALVEZ
BIO
After his
return to Cuba from Russia, in 1987, he began to realize that he was living
in a spiritual decay that had left him disillusioned and empty. Hiram remembered
the reverent fear of the Lord taught to him by his parents at a very young
age and he decided to follow their deep desire for him to be a better person.
This turning point in Hiram's life allowed him to realize that he couldn't be
a better person only fearing the Lord unless he accepted by faith the Lord
Jesus as his only personal Savior. It was then when he decided to make a very
strong commitment to live for Jesus Christ. Subsequently, receiving a call
from God through the Scripture of Isaiah 61:1-2, to evangelize and make
disciples, he went to the Bible Institute of the Church of the Nazarene in
Havana for two years for preparing himself better for the ministry. He
continued later his theological studies for four more years at the Methodist
Seminary of Theology in Matanzas, Cuba, where he earned his Bachelor's degree
in Theology. Hiram has
performed also as the opening piano soloist for the well-known Christian show
''The Promise", played at the Will Rogers Theater in Branson, Missouri,
during its 1998-1999 season. He was as well a guest artist at the Christmas
Holiday Prelude Festival at Juanita Hammonds Hall in Springfield, Missouri
sponsored by The Messiah Project, Inc. From 2004
until 2007, Hiram and his wife Yani served as missionaries with Maranatha
Volunteers International India, training pastors, in the media department and
Hiram as special assignment personnel to the Director of Maranatha India,
living full time in India. At the
end of 2009, after attending as visitors to the General Assembly of the
Church of the Nazarene in Orlando, FL, Hiram and Yani were prompted by God to
come back to the Church of the Nazarene as missionaries. In March 2010 they
started to serve and minister as volunteer missionaries in the former
Caribbean Regional Office, today Mesoamerica Region, where they are currently
serving. From
September 2010 until March 2011, Hiram and Yani have served as regional
missionaries of MAR Region, helping as interim NCM Coordinators traveling one
week a month to Haiti, assessing some of the proposals for NCM projects for 9
months. Currently,
Hiram and Yani has been assigned again to Panama as global missionaries of
the church of the Nazarene and are going presently through the assessment
process through the Global Missions Center from Kansas City, Missouri. Hiram
uses a unique musical presentation and ministry that ranges from classical, traditional
hymns to Christian Jazz, Gospel and contemporary praise and worship songs,
preaching as well a refreshing and challenging message of the Word of God
applicable to the present times. His ministry and music will bless you. |
